I’m on YouTube ( at least for now )

Hey ladies and jelly spoons.

After which feels like a lifetime of being sick with an ear infection, I’m finally up and running again 😉

I’ve promised a friend of mine that I’ll teach her how to depot her Mac Eyeshadows and seeing that she is in RSA while I’m in Korea, I made her a video.

Here it is:

Enjoy and please like, comment or subscribe if you’d like. 🙂

Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips Talk

Hi Ladies and Jellyspoons

I have a rather extensive wishlist of things that I want from Etude House. This last month’s spending makes me feel like I’ve made some progress, especially since I finally got my hands on the lipsticks that are always sold out when I’m ready to pick them up.

These retail for w9000 each. (Roughly $9) but I got them for w5000 because Etude house had a 30% sale and I got more off since I have VIP status on my point card.

Here they are:

PK 015, OR 202 and the infamous OR 205:

Etude House is famous for making every part of their packaging look really cute. As you can see in the previous picture, the lipsticks are engraved with a heart and a crown.
The tubes look like pillars in a fairy tale castle and it has a detachable pink ribbon ring.

The boxes are adorned with hearts and cute princessy logos. They really go all out on making these look and feel feminine:

Here are swatches: PK 015

OR 202:

PK 015 is by far my favourite Etude House lipstick so far and I have 6. It’s the perfect matte fuchsia. It could be drying as most mattes are, but you won’t easily find a colour dupe and the staying power is really good for the price.

OR 202 and OR 205 are lustre slash amplified finishes. I love them too and they are very moisturizing. I tried putting balm on my lips before applying them and the colour wouldn’t stick to my lips. It doesn’t need balm before hand, because it’s so soft and creamy.

The pink lipsticks in this range smell like pink Turkish delights, a sweet rosy scent and the orange lipsticks smell like oranges. It’s not an overwhelming smell at all, but very pleasant indeed. I don’t know what the beige and red lipsticks in this range smell like. I would have to purchase a few and keep you updated.

I tried to take images of the products on my lips but it’s night time here and the lighting is just not good at all so I’ll post them first thing in the morning.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Have a lovely weekend

Disney Frozen themed Nails.

Disney Frozen.jpg

I don’t know how it is where you are, but here in Korea the movie Frozen is pretty much the top thing on every child’s lips. You walk past a convenient store and you hear ‘Let it go’ sung in different languages, blaring out of the speakers. The little girls are all singing songs from it. I’ve never seen such a Disney craze since the Lion King. I’m 26 years old and I’m strongly considering dying my hair red with one white streak. Yes, I love the movie too. 🙂

Etude house is currently having a 1+1 sale. That means you get 2 items for the price of one. I’ve purchased quite a few bottles of nail polish for $1 and $1,50 each, all with the idea of making Frozen themed nails.

For today’s look I used Etude House play #83 (Sky blue). I applied 2 layers, then I applied Etude House play #144 (red, purple, blue and gold glitter shaped in dots, squares and hexagons) I applied 2-3 layers depending on how much glitter I got to grab with the brush.

I’m not sure if this should be snow themed or mermaid themed, but I feel like it could swing either way.

I have a few more Frozen themes in mind for the future. I hope you liked this one.

Hello Everybody.

If you’ve read my previous post, you’ll know that I’ve recently been introduced to Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics LIPTAR. (Occ is a new innovative cosmetic brand that’s completely vegan and cruelty free)

They weren’t available in Korea, so I took the opportunity to ask a friend of mine who was visiting the USA over winter break, to bring me back some. I ordered 2 of the 3 set off Sephora’s website and had them delivered to her. Yes, it’s a lot of schlep and a long 2 month wait, but it was all worth it! I would like to add that Sephora just started shipping to the UK, Japan and South Korea \(^_^)/ which means I no longer have to bug my friends. I can order them right to my door.

OCC liptars usually retail for $18 a piece, but Sephora brings out value sets every now and then. This set of 5 cost me $49 and both v1.0 and v3.0 are still currently available.

The set includes. Ophelia, Grandma, Melange, Stalker and Vintage. It also comes with a full size synthetic lip brush. (I say synthetic because it’s not made of animal hair.)

Ophelia: (basic ladylike pink)

Grandma: (Classic coral)

Melange: (Terracotta neutral)

Stalker: (true blue based red)

Vintage: (deep burgundy)

And there they are. I’ve worn some of them. I use the clear primer from v3.0 and apply the tiniest amount to brush and then paint it onto my lips and wait for it to absorb for about 10 minutes. This prevents the colour from seeping into the cracks of the lips and prevents staining and feathering. I then apply a 1mm by 1mm bead of product on the brush. I then apply it to the lips starting in the center and moving out towards the edges. The lip brush is stiff and small enough to create a perfect lip line and Cupid’s bow.

I’ve heard people say that the product stays put all day. I have to ask: what’s your definition of all day? If the product hasn’t dried for at least 30minutes before excessive talking, lip licking, meals or drinks, it won’t stay put. However, if the product is allowed to dry, it’s stays on for a good 8 hours. It’s different from person to person, so please don’t quote me on this. I’d also like to say that the less you apply, the longer it will stay on. If you apply too much, it will stay wet for longer and therefore it will come off quicker. I’d also recommend putting on your jerseys and shirts before applying the LIPTAR, as it will definitely rub off onto clothing.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Have a great week!

OCC LIPTAR Pro Picks v3.0

I’m super excited to finally have my hands on some of these little guys. I was introduced to OCC LIPTAR for the first time while reading Natzi Wang’s blog.

I read her product rave reviews and fell in love. I was lucky to have found these sets at Sephora for $49 each. These liptars usually retail for $18 a piece, but I got 2 sets of 5 for under 100 bucks. \(^_^)/

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics is a young innovative and very successful makeup brand. It is completely vegan and cruelty free. Liptars are lipsticks that apply like gloss but dry like lipstick. It’s made mainly of hemp oil and peppermint oil. Now we all know the health benefits of hemp oil by now and I can vouch for it, it’s amazing stuff.

The smell: it smells mostly of mint and if you’re not familiar with the smell of weed, you won’t realise that it does have an underlying smell of it as well. It’s not unpleasant. It’s just a sweet herbal smell. (No, I’ve never smoked weed, but if you’ve been in a public school, you’ll know what it smells like.)

I will be reviewing v3.0 of the 3 pro picks sets. I wanted all three, but unfortunately v2.0 was already sold out so I only got v1.0 and v3.0.

The first LIPTAR in this set is called ‘Clear’. It’s a primer that should be used before applying the coloured liptars. I’ve used it as lip balm last night and it is definitely moisturizing.
If you don’t have clear, I’d recommend it strongly as it will prevent the colour of the liptars seeping into the cracks of your lips and staining them.

Here are the images:
Clear. (Just my lip colour that’s showing)

The second colour is called Femme. It’s a pale matte Barbie pink. Probably not exactly the colour for my NW20 skin, but I’ll use it for mixing colours.

The third colour is called Electric Grandma. It’s a bright metallic coral with tiny glitter particles. I really love this one for spring.

The fourth colour is called Authentic. It’s a metallic deeper nude with coral undertones. It looks more brown in the tube but more coral on the lips and although it’s a metallic, it’s not glittery like Electric Grandma.

And the last colour is Radiate. It’s a bright fiery red in a matte finish and by far my favourite colour in this set.

I’m happy with all of these colours even though Femme is probably not a good colour for me, though it might look better on a tanned skin in summer time. My only regret in getting Liptars is that I don’t feel like I’ll ever be happy before I have every single colour. They are amazing and that is all 🙂

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. Please look out for my review on v1.0 coming up soon.

Enjoy your Sunday
