Kocostar Slice Mask Sheet Apple Review

Hello Everyone

I’m probably going to be driving you nuts with all my reviews from the Korean Beauty Expo, but I can’t help it 😉 Some of you may know by now that I’ve been to a Korean Beauty expo and was given a lot of free things for reviewing purposes. These masks have been all the rage of Korean beauty enthusiasts on social media lately, and there’s no wondering why. Instead of having the run of the mill regular sheet mask, they have come out with little slices of fruit and vegetables. So you get two sheets of mask stickers that you can place not only all over your face, but anywhere you’d like. The world is your oyster.

I really like all things apple flavoured so I started off but trying the apple one, and I will be reviewing all four of them one by one and not too closely together so I can have a true idea of how they are on the skin.

This is what the apple one looks like:

I was considering taking out only one sheet and using only that, but I decided to use them all because I had this nightmarish fear that they would dry up in the packet by the next day, and go to waste. (Ps I still haven’t found a way to look cute with a sheet mask on, so in the words of Charlotte Lucas: “don’t judge me. Don’t you dare judge me.” 😀

Here is the back of the packet and the list of ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Neofinetia Falcata Callus Culture Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Centella Asiatica Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Tremella Fuciformis (Mushroom) Extract, Allantoin, Betaine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Carbomer, Arginine, Cellulose Gum, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance.

And this is what the little slices look like when they are done. I really didn’t want to throw these away, they are so cute!

This mask really did do wonders for my skin. My face looked really clear and smooth. The pores were less visible and the little spots were soothed. I am also impressed with the amount of excellent natural ingredients there are in it.

Will I repurchase this? That’ll be a hard yes from me, for sure. They are also great stocking stuffers.

That’s it from me, guys. I will be alternating my mask reviews for the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled for the next Slice Mask review. Also, which one of these would you like to try? Let me know in the comment section  below.

lots of love

Oka (Wrinkle Care) Mask Review

Hello everyone

Some of you may know that I have been gifted some masks to test when I visited the KBeauty expo at Kintex last month. One of the brands that gifted me some products is called Oka. That is what’s really great about attending expos such as these. You get to become acquainted with brands you’ve never heard of or otherwise might never have heard of before, and it really broadens one’s horizons.

This is what I got from Oka:

The first thing I tried is the Wrinkle Care Mask. Firstly, how freaking adorable is the packaging on these masks? I want to cut the faces out and use them for scrapbooking, they are so pretty.

I don’t know if you can notice from the picture, but the packet is quite chunky. I was expecting it to either be a lipmask or some mega thick mask, but it turns out the mask is quite thin but there is serum for days in that packet! I was literally able to lather my whole upper body, stomach and thighs with the excess serum after applying the mask AND serum onto my face.

Here is what I looked like during the application:

As you can tell, it’s a thin sheet, which is the way I like it.

Here is the back of the packet:

The instructions said to put the mask on for 15-20 minutes: I’m never much of a timer when it comes to things like this. I just go with the feeling of it and to me when the mask starts to feel like it’s drying on my skin, I take it off and tap in the excess serum.

Here is a list of the ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Propanediol, 1,2- Hexanediol, Diglycerin, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, Persea gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Centella Asiatica Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Artemisia Vulgaris Extract, Octyldodeceth- 16, Carbomer, Arginine, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine.

I’m going mmmmm that makes sense: Avocado, Royal Jelly and Collagen… those are all really excellent ingredients so it makes sense why it’s so good! My skin did feel amazing afterwards. It definitely felt like a high quality mask to me.

Would I purchase this? Yes, I want to buy them in bulk and get my hands on the ones I haven’t had the opportunity to try yet.

I will be posting a review of the other mask that I got from this line soon!

Until next time

Mediheal Dress Code Blue Mask Review

IMG_3947

Hello Guys

I’ve been intrigued by these masks for the longest time, as they have been all over instagram, but I just for the life of me couldn’t get my hands on them. I actually went out looking for them, but it was all in vain. To cut a long story short I found them very unexpectedly at Incheon International Airport, in one of their little curio shops. They only had the blue and the purple so I grabbed two of each.  As far as I know there are also red and black ones and maybe some others in this line, which I’ll try to get my hands on as well. Some of you may know that I dearly love to try dramatic sheet masks. They are fun and make you look awesome, instead of making you look like the Groke. I’ve tried masks that are like these but just plain black and only focusing on the eye areas. I’ve also tried an Etude House one that made me look like Batman. These are like intricate masquerade ball masks and they really are more girly, but I love it.

This is what they look like in the packaging.

IMG_3916

I will write a review on the purple one once I’ve tried it.

Here is a picture of the back of the mask, with a list of the ingredients, and the instructions.

IMG_3948

This is the first sheet mask from Mediheal that I’ve tried, that is a full face mask. I’ve tried their three step nose patches and I have a few of their charcoal eye masks in my stash that I still need to try and review for you. I must say for W2000 a piece, these are far superior to the average w1000 mask, and I was not holding my breath because companies usually charge more for colour printed masks than they do for the clear ones. Animal masks for example can go for up to 3 times the price, just because it’s an animal mask. These are definitely value for money though and I am very happy I eventually found them.

This is what it looked like applied to my face:

IMG_3935

IMG_3942

They say one should never smile while wearing a face mask, since it could cause wrinkles, but I must say my heart is smiling.

This is what the mask looked like after I removed it:

IMG_3943

I really appreciate the art and the effort behind these masks, and they can cheer you up no matter what mood you’re in. This mask did a great job of moisturizing my face without feeling too oily. I believe the blue one says BERRY, I’d imagine blueberry. The texture of the liquid is not too milky but not too gel like either. Just right,a nd there was a lot of product left in the foil packet which I used to rub into my neck, decolletage and breasts. They would make great christmas stocking stuffers and I like that you don’t have to break the bank to get your hands on a few of them.

That’s it from me.

lots of love

4D Horse Fat Essence Mask

IMG_3230Hello Everyone

First off, I know the horse fat in the title is off putting, but I honestly bought the mask before I realised it actually contained horse fat. I then did some research and found that horse fat is actually something that is used in many skincare products because for years it has been known to do wonders for wrinkle prevention and the general care and maintenance of healthy skin. They claim that horse oil is very similar to human sebum and that’s why it works so well on our skin.

I was more intrigued by the concept of a four dimensional mask. And although the mask is still technically 2 dimensional in its shape as a flat sheet mask, I understand the concept because this mask doesn’t just cover the face, but it comes with loops that wrap under the chin and hook on the ears.

FullSizeRender-1

It kind of looks like an alien in a textbook I used to teach from here in Korea. But this is what it looks like ones applied:

IMG_3237

As you can tell it the first layer already hooks on the ears, but then the bandages that wrap under the chin also hook on the ears, so the mask covers the entire face area, even under the chin and behind the ears. I must say, as someone with very very small ears, I don’t know if this will fit everyone’s face very well. It was a tight stretch for me.

IMG_3236

I felt a bit like the troll meme character.

It was overall a lovely experience. I’m always up for a new adventure and a new mask. I bought this at Daiso for w1000, and I have another one called the Bird’s Nest 4D mask, so reviews will be up for it soon as well.

Here are the ingredients:

FullSizeRender

I won’t be repurchasing because I’m systematically going vegan, and this goes against my beliefs. The product did do what it said it would, but I’m sure they could’ve found good oils in plants rather than in animals. That doesn’t sit well with me.

Have you had any experience with 4d sheet masks? How did you find them?

SNP Fruits Gelato Brightening Mask Grapefruit Review

Hello Everyone

I’ve been super crazy about hauling masks lately but the frustrating part is that I do so many extracurricular activities in the evenings that I hardly get a time to try them. I’ve decided that has to change so I’m going to be inundating you with mask reviews for a while and I’m sure that’s okay.

What’s really nice about South Korea is that you can find them for very cheap almost everywhere. I found this mask and 2 others from a convenience store.

I was toying with the idea of making collective blogs but I realized with the empties tag blogs I’ve been doing lately it makes it so long and quite exhausting to write, but then again some of you like it so, please tell me what you prefer: collective blogs or a bunch of separate ones.

SNP is a brand that I haven’t tried yet, as far as I know so that and the fact that they’re made of ice cream made me very excited about trying these.

This is what the packaging looks like:

And the back:

From what I can understand from the images the instructions say to cleanse thoroughly and then apply the mask, and leave it on for 10-20 minutes. Then when you remove it you should dab the excess liquid into the skin. I also like to remove the remaining liquid from the pouch and to apply that to my neck and décolletage.

This is what it looked like on my face:

I don’t know if you can tell but this is literally the thinnest sheet mask I have ever tried and I’ve tried many. It almost made me wonder whether there was anything on my face. I also really likes the texture of the mask as it was slightly milky but not super creamy. Almost more gel like in a way. It’s hard to explain. It did wonder for my skin: and my pores looked much smaller and my skin felt amazingly moisturized and plump.

Will I repurchase? Yes, but I’ll have to find a ten pack of these because they’re that amazing!

There you go Ladies and gentlemen. Have a lovely Thursday.

Zoo Cat Real Mask Review

FullSizeRender-2Hello Kittens

Today I will be sharing another sheet mask experience with you. I told you I was going to inundate you. 😉 I was given this mask as a freebie at a shop in Myeongdong called Mask Story. I picked up some eye masks from them, and this was the mask they gave me at the door. I’ve never tried an animal or character mask before, because they usually cost 3 times the price and does the exact same thing, other than making you feel cute for the 20-30 minutes of wearing time. I thought I’d try this one for fun and I must say I have really been pleasantly surprised at the results.

First off, here is what the product looks like: (this is what it looked like after I removed it, but I wanted you to see this before seeing what it looked like on me.)

FullSizeRender-1

I really like the design of this one, and I think they did a pretty good job of making it look like the picture on the packaging, considering that it can’t have big massive ears.

This is what it looked like on me:

IMG_2879

I tried to portray the image of a clawing cat, and I was coincidentally dressed in a smart vintage collared shirt.

The instructions say to cleanse your face thoroughly and then apply the mask and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. The mask didn’t dry  up by the time I took it off, but my skin felt so amazingly moisturized and nourished afterwards.

People say that animal masks are usually not that great, but I must say this one really did impress me. I do have an oily T zone, and I did feel like my nose was a little more oily than it needed to be, so I’d recommend this for people with dry to normal skin, but in saying that, I’m still willing to go out and buy a few of these because they made my skin feel lovely.

Have you ever used an animal mask? Which ones would you recommend I try out for my blog? Please let me know in the comment section below.

Aeria Skin Ultra Age-defying Mask Review

FullSizeRender

Hi Guys

Some of you may know that I have been sent a parcel with a few masks to try out in exchange for honest reviews on them. This is the what I got:

IMG_2642

I have reviewed all of the large products on my site, and today I will reviewing the Ultra Age-defying Mask by Aeria Skin.

This is what it looks like:

FullSizeRender

I like the lilac packaging since purple in all its shades and tints is my favourite colour. It also matches my bedding 🙂

This is the back of the packet:

IMG_2853

I think what’s important to note right off the bat is that this company does not test on animals. They have the cruelty free sign on the packet, along with the 100% organic cotton sign as well. So not only do they not test on animals but they also ensure that the sheet you throw away after using the mask is organic, which is better for you skin and for the environment, since it’s able to bio degrade completely and naturally.

My pet peeve about sheet masks is when you pull them out of the packet and they tear because the material is so thin and so heavily drenched in liquid. This mask comes with a plastic protective sheet at the back of it, which not only makes it easier to remove from the foil packet, but it makes it easier and less messy to apply.

I kept the sheet for you to see what it looks like:

IMG_2920

The instructions say:

Begin with a thoroughly cleansed skin. Open packaging and remove the plastic liner film. Place the facial mask on and gently adjust over the eyes. Relax with the facial mask on for 15-20 minutes. Remove mask and discard. Pat remaining serum into skin. Follow with moisturizer.

This is what it looked like on. I was battling with the flu so this sheet mask really made me feel spoilt and pampered.

IMG_2857

Although this mask was not as slimy and collagen-like as some of the others I’ve reviewed recently, it definitely did a great job of staying on and moisturizing my skin. These masks are on a different league than the average w1000 masks you can pick up here in Korea. They look and feel like they are of a higher quality and the results are absolutely amazing. My skin felt so plumbed up and nourished after using this. I went to my husband and said: feel my face, and he was wowed by how smooth and healthy it was.

How would I feel about purchasing some of these? I’m definitely going to buy some masks from them in the future, including this one and some more of their eye masks.

That’s it from me. I will probably be inundating you with sheet masks reviews this month, because I have so many to try out.

xoxo
