Kocostar Slice Mask Sheet Apple Review

Hello Everyone

I’m probably going to be driving you nuts with all my reviews from the Korean Beauty Expo, but I can’t help it 😉 Some of you may know by now that I’ve been to a Korean Beauty expo and was given a lot of free things for reviewing purposes. These masks have been all the rage of Korean beauty enthusiasts on social media lately, and there’s no wondering why. Instead of having the run of the mill regular sheet mask, they have come out with little slices of fruit and vegetables. So you get two sheets of mask stickers that you can place not only all over your face, but anywhere you’d like. The world is your oyster.

I really like all things apple flavoured so I started off but trying the apple one, and I will be reviewing all four of them one by one and not too closely together so I can have a true idea of how they are on the skin.

This is what the apple one looks like:

I was considering taking out only one sheet and using only that, but I decided to use them all because I had this nightmarish fear that they would dry up in the packet by the next day, and go to waste. (Ps I still haven’t found a way to look cute with a sheet mask on, so in the words of Charlotte Lucas: “don’t judge me. Don’t you dare judge me.” 😀

Here is the back of the packet and the list of ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Neofinetia Falcata Callus Culture Extract, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Centella Asiatica Extract, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Tremella Fuciformis (Mushroom) Extract, Allantoin, Betaine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Carbomer, Arginine, Cellulose Gum, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Caprylyl Glycol, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance.

And this is what the little slices look like when they are done. I really didn’t want to throw these away, they are so cute!

This mask really did do wonders for my skin. My face looked really clear and smooth. The pores were less visible and the little spots were soothed. I am also impressed with the amount of excellent natural ingredients there are in it.

Will I repurchase this? That’ll be a hard yes from me, for sure. They are also great stocking stuffers.

That’s it from me, guys. I will be alternating my mask reviews for the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled for the next Slice Mask review. Also, which one of these would you like to try? Let me know in the comment section  below.

lots of love

Amanda

Oka (Wrinkle Care) Mask Review

Hello everyone

Some of you may know that I have been gifted some masks to test when I visited the KBeauty expo at Kintex last month. One of the brands that gifted me some products is called Oka. That is what’s really great about attending expos such as these. You get to become acquainted with brands you’ve never heard of or otherwise might never have heard of before, and it really broadens one’s horizons.

This is what I got from Oka:

The first thing I tried is the Wrinkle Care Mask. Firstly, how freaking adorable is the packaging on these masks? I want to cut the faces out and use them for scrapbooking, they are so pretty.

I don’t know if you can notice from the picture, but the packet is quite chunky. I was expecting it to either be a lipmask or some mega thick mask, but it turns out the mask is quite thin but there is serum for days in that packet! I was literally able to lather my whole upper body, stomach and thighs with the excess serum after applying the mask AND serum onto my face.

Here is what I looked like during the application:

As you can tell, it’s a thin sheet, which is the way I like it.

Here is the back of the packet:

The instructions said to put the mask on for 15-20 minutes: I’m never much of a timer when it comes to things like this. I just go with the feeling of it and to me when the mask starts to feel like it’s drying on my skin, I take it off and tap in the excess serum.

Here is a list of the ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Propanediol, 1,2- Hexanediol, Diglycerin, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, Persea gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Centella Asiatica Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Artemisia Vulgaris Extract, Octyldodeceth- 16, Carbomer, Arginine, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine.

I’m going mmmmm that makes sense: Avocado, Royal Jelly and Collagen… those are all really excellent ingredients so it makes sense why it’s so good! My skin did feel amazing afterwards. It definitely felt like a high quality mask to me.

Would I purchase this? Yes, I want to buy them in bulk and get my hands on the ones I haven’t had the opportunity to try yet.

I will be posting a review of the other mask that I got from this line soon!

Until next time

Etude House Hydrogel Eyepatch

IMG_2971

Hello Everyone

I don’t know if all of you remember, but I’ve been sponsored by ‘n site called Amabie to review some amazing Taiwanese products and one of the products that I had received in the box was a beautifully ornate eye mask by a brand called Aeriaskin. I was so impressed with the mask that I was desperately trying to find something similar locally. I saw this at Etude House and off course I adore cats so I was immediately drawn to this. Much to my surprise I ended up looking like Batman rather than Catwoman. No, I am not complaining.

First off here is what it look likes when removed from the foil:

FullSizeRender-7

I don’t know if you can tell but it’s quite a thick collagen (gel like) cat shaped mask in a mould or container. It comes with a film on either side for protection, so it’s definitely quite fancy.

This is what it looked like after I had removed it:

FullSizeRender-6

And this is what it looked like on me face.

IMG_2975

I really felt more like a Batman than a Catlady, and ended up getting a lot of love on my instagram for posting this image, in which I felt so childish but in a good way.

The overall result of this mask is less puffy eyes; definitely less dark circles. The are the mask touched look plumbed up and the pores were smaller. I am super happy with the results of the mask, but I feel like the cosplay factor made it so much more worth it.

They retail for w3500 which isn’t the cheapest for a mask in Korea, but I’d still say it’s worth every cent and that you should definitely try it if you can get your hands on it.

That’s it from me.

nananana nananana Batman.

SNP Fruits Gelato Brightening Mask Grapefruit Review

Hello Everyone

I’ve been super crazy about hauling masks lately but the frustrating part is that I do so many extracurricular activities in the evenings that I hardly get a time to try them. I’ve decided that has to change so I’m going to be inundating you with mask reviews for a while and I’m sure that’s okay.

What’s really nice about South Korea is that you can find them for very cheap almost everywhere. I found this mask and 2 others from a convenience store.

I was toying with the idea of making collective blogs but I realized with the empties tag blogs I’ve been doing lately it makes it so long and quite exhausting to write, but then again some of you like it so, please tell me what you prefer: collective blogs or a bunch of separate ones.

SNP is a brand that I haven’t tried yet, as far as I know so that and the fact that they’re made of ice cream made me very excited about trying these.

This is what the packaging looks like:

And the back:

From what I can understand from the images the instructions say to cleanse thoroughly and then apply the mask, and leave it on for 10-20 minutes. Then when you remove it you should dab the excess liquid into the skin. I also like to remove the remaining liquid from the pouch and to apply that to my neck and décolletage.

This is what it looked like on my face:

I don’t know if you can tell but this is literally the thinnest sheet mask I have ever tried and I’ve tried many. It almost made me wonder whether there was anything on my face. I also really likes the texture of the mask as it was slightly milky but not super creamy. Almost more gel like in a way. It’s hard to explain. It did wonder for my skin: and my pores looked much smaller and my skin felt amazingly moisturized and plump.

Will I repurchase? Yes, but I’ll have to find a ten pack of these because they’re that amazing!

There you go Ladies and gentlemen. Have a lovely Thursday.

Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack

etude-house-bubble-tea-sleeping-pack-23

Hi Ladies and Jellyspoons.

Today I will be sharing another review that on the net has been like Marmite – Some love it, some hate it. I liked the packaging (as usual) and thought I’d try it out regardless of the flack people have been giving it.

First off, my skin isn’t dry at all. In fact it’s too oily in the warmer months, so I don’t need a ton of hydration, but I can’t go without it either, because the skin then over compensates by making more sebum. So I figured if I can find something that is nourishing enough but not super super heavy, then it should work.

People have complained that these aren’t hydrating enough, because most sleeping packs are very heavy. I find that it’s just perfect for my skin. I don’t wake up with an oil slick on my skin, and I don’t get break outs either.

This is what the product looks like in the packaging:

And this is what the product looks like:

Mine is a little lower than it was when I bought it because I use it all the time, so don’t be scared. You’ll get a full container.

As you can tell there are real bubbles inside that are like little balls of strawberry preserves.

The product comes with a nifty little spade or spoon with which to get the bubbles out. People complain that the product should have more bubbles and that they’re hard to remove and that it’s messy. My comment: if it weren’t for messy, you wouldn’t be conceived. Get over it. Haha 🙂  It’s a sticky sleeping pack. It’s meant to be messy. That’s what makes it fun.

I took one of the bubbles and crushed it for you all to see what it looks like:

Here are the instructions and claims:

They claim that this sleeping pack makes your skin clear and full of vitality overnight. For me the product works spot on. I did however not apply too much on my nose as I struggle with perpetual black heads on the nose and too much moisture or oils can make it worse. My skin looked really happy the morning after application and I find that I don’t need to apply any other form of night cream or moisturiser when I use this.

Here are the list of ingredients:

I’m not a scientist but none of the ingredients made me raise an eyebrow. The product just gave me an overall impression of wholesomeness and skin nourishment. I will definitely be repurchasing, by this time I want to try either of the others: green tea or black tea.

Let me know if you’ve tried this, in the comment section below. What we’re your thoughts?

Innisfree Creammellow Lipstick Review

creammellow

Hi Ladies and Jellyspoons.

I have another Creammelow review for you today, but since I wrote the previous review so many months ago, I thought I’d review the both of them for you today. Creammelow2.jpg

The first one I got is number 8 and tranlates as Glossy Red.

Here is what it looks like on my lips:

creammellow8

As you can tell, it is very creamy and the colour is really strong with this one. I didn’t have to apply extra layers at all. I like the way it glides on without being patchy or sheer.

The next one I got is number 10 and it’s called Latte Brown.

Here is what it looks like on the lips:

dmwltlattebrown

This one is a lot more sheer, but I love the colour since it a unique nude and it will look different on everyone depending on the natural colour of your lips.

Here is a picture of the product line. They retail for w12 000 and I want all of them 🙂

There you have it beauties and beaus. I will be getting more of these soon and off course you’d be the first to know what I think.

Lots of love and best wishes for the new year.

Etude House My Little Nut Lipstick Review

5372

Hi Ladies and Jellyspoons

It’s been a long while since I was able to post on here, but I promise that this coming year will be more fruitful. This past year I have been blogging for a site called DupeUp. You can have a look at them over here. I will not be blogging for them this coming year, but I will from time to time share my blogs with you, that have been published there. I want to also take a moment to thank everyone for your support over the years and welcome those who have recently started following me. I only have love and appreciation for all of you.

Today I will be sharing my thoughts on some Etude House products. Those of you who have been following me for a while know that I have a very loving relationship with the brand. I find it very hard to restrain myself whenever they bring out a new collection, especially involving lipsticks.

This year they came out with a Nutcracker themed Christmas collection called My Little Nut. 🙂 I love the name. Not only am I obsessed with all things Russian including Tolstoy, ballet and the guy who plays piano for our choir (kidding), but I also really like Christmassy things. They have 7 lipsticks, 2 eye shadow pallets, mascaras in different colours, lip tints, hand creams, and cushion foundations. (I already have so many Etude House cushion foundations that it would be a crime if I got any more, but it is tempting.) I plan to eventually get my hands on the rest of the lipsticks and the eyeshadow palettes, but I will only be reviewing two lipsticks today.

Here’s the collection of lipsticks. I will be reviewing two of them today. Depending on what I get in my Christmas stocking (touch wood) I might be able to review more of the collection in the near future.

First of all, look at the packaging of these!

Those little soldiers are just too adorable! I believe there are only two variants of the boxes, as that is the case for the casing of lipstick itself. Here they are:image2-1

The first one I had my eye on is Nutcracker Pink PK01. What caught my attention is that it’s not just the average dark pink, but it has the most beautiful fine pink shimmer in it. I hope you will be able to see what I am referring to:

Here it is in the packing:image5-1

And here it is swatched on my lips:image8

I should really get a back up of this one. It glides on so smoothly, as do all their Dear My Enamel Lips products, which I believe these are just special editions of. The packaging looks the same in shape, but the regulars are in a matte pink plastic casing, where these are shiny pink with the extra Nutcracker themed gold details.

The next one is called Red Chilly Peppers RD 305

Here it is in the tube:image6

It reminds of Chilly by MAC, in colour only, as this one is more of cream sheen finish. I was never one for brownish reds, but since I’ve coloured my hair black, it seems to look better on my than when my hair was brown or blonde.

Here is swatched on my lip:

image9

AS you can see, the creamier consistency definitely makes it much more opaque then it comes across in the tube. Even though it is labelled red, it’s really more of a terra cotta brown.

Here they are swatched on my arm:image7

There remind me a lot of the Dear My Wish Lips Talk collection, especially Red Chilly Peppers. They apply really smoothly, but I would recommend a good lip scrub for those living in dry areas or struggling with chapped lips. The opaque finish and the creaminess makes it easy for any dry patches on the lips to be emphasized.

The verdict:

Pros:

They are affordable

Great quality

Applies smoothly yet evenly

Not drying at all

Cons:

Opaque and creamy can make chapped lips look bad

Limited edition so if you love it, you can’t go back and get another one

You would want them all and it might hurt you savings a bit.

Would I repurchase? Yes, in fact I feel the need to buy some extras in case I run out.

There you have it beauties and beaus.

Tell me which part of the collection interests you the most and why, in the comments bellow.

Merry Christmas and lots of love

Amanda
